Material Controller (Helicopters Business Unit)

The Material Controller ships, receives and visually inspects products for distribution throughout the facility and outgoing from the facility. Maintains records and prepares documentation for all products shipped and received. Ensures all items are received, recorded, accounted for, stored and issued in a safe, accurate and timely manner. The Material Controller will be required to field and direct phone and in person customer inquiries. The Material Controller will complete administrative tasks and duties as assigned.
Duties include:
- Facilitate products coming in and going out via freight companies.
- Packs and unpacks products.
- Logs received items into production management system to maintain lot control registry.
- Prepares and completes a variety of required documentation.
- Answers or directs customer inquiries in person or on the phone.
- Visually inspects incoming products for any obvious damage.
- Validates received products, verifying the documentation received with the item.
- Provides materials, components and engines to appropriate areas.
- Stocks consumables and parts.
- Maintains accurate inventory – cycle counts.
- Locate, pull and label material.
- Administrative tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a fast-pace warehousing environment is an asset.
- Superior attention to detail, customer service, organizational and time management abilities.
- Good computer proficiency. Experience with MRP/ERP systems is a definite asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of proper material handling techniques.
- Experience working with industry regulations is a definite asset.
- Working knowledge of inventory controls and warehousing procedures.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of workplace safety and health policies and procedures.
- Ability to stand for frequent durations throughout the work day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day.
