Manufacturing Engineer - End of Line Test:

Singer Vehicle Design (SVD): is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer: to join our world-class team. A team that is redefining what an iconic performance automobile can be.

Singer Manufacturing engineers are responsible for the creation of standard work. This role will be responsible for developing and supporting end of line operations validating the safety and quality of the build process. This is a dynamic position that requires the ability to create and manage project timelines while driving improvement in all areas with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery. As a manufacturing engineer, you will define manufacturing planning templates, own process definition, quality standards, and cost reduction initiatives. You will also be responsible for creating a lean part flow through production resources and implementing these resources in a new facility.

Core Requirements::

• Engineering degree Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Systems, or Automotive Engineering.

• 3+ years of experience in automotive or related manufacturing environment, vehicle testing experience preferred.

• Familiarity with vehicle testing, diagnostics, and end-of-line vehicle tests (wheel alignment, dynamic vehicle tests, etc).

• General knowledge of lean principles, VSM, 5S, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to drive projects with diverse teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Root Cause, and Corrective Action experience.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Implement process improvement methodologies and tools (ex. value stream mapping, problem-solving, visual management, etc.) to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues, increase production rates, and remove waste from processes across multiple departments.

• Define and implement general assembly inline or end-of-line vehicle testing requirements in collaboration with vehicle design, software, and integration teams, in preparation for new product launches.

• Optimize vehicle tests for manufacturing in collaboration with cross functional teams, considering KPIs such as quality, productivity, and capital expenditure.

• Lead investigations for process issues?leading to test failures?and ensure all issues are driven to resolution, including immediate mitigation and?permanent solution.?

• Analyze and disposition manufacturing discrepancies and interface with the quality team on root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Support day-to-day production of the Singer Vehicles and components together with technicians, quality, supply chain.

• Lead prototype builds and vehicle commissioning in-vehicle testing.

• Develop and maintain manufacture and test planning for processes, products, and integration.

• Develop and optimize production processes in alignment with labor cost targets.

• Create and manage manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications. You will be required to develop, educate, update, and improve standards for items you are responsible for.

• Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet production demand.

• Responsible for developing and qualifying new processes to take products from design to production.

• Create and or improve Preventative Maintenance plans for tools, tooling, shop aids, equipment, and facilities for resources that you are responsible for.

• Create standards and inspection criteria for the outsourcing of products.

• Perform PFMEAs for the operation you are responsible for.

Ability requirements:

• Proficient working with SQL, Excel, or similar data analysis software.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Jira.

• Experience with developing, optimizing, and analyzing assembly and test processes.

• Strong project management skills.

• Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

• Experience driving cross-functional change within large organizations.

• Experience bringing teams and processes from a development phase to full production.

• Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.

• Experience designing greenfield facility layouts and/or material flow strategy.
