Position Overview

We are looking for 2 Managers, Supervision for our broker/dealer subsidiary, Hornor, Townsend & Kent (HTK). The Manager, Supervision is responsible for leading a field or home based supervision team. This team supervises the daily activities of Registered Representatives and Investment Advisor Representatives and provides ongoing support to Financial Professionals and Field Leadership. The Manager, Supervision will lead and provide direction to the Field Supervision Team Leads or to the HO Supervision team. This individual must be proficient in the processes and procedures that relate to the compliance/supervision functions within the office and must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently.


Responsibilities

  • Provides direct leadership to the Field Supervision Team Leads or Home Office field supervision team
  • Provides training and education on company policies and procedures; trading and operations, state insurance and securities regulations, and FINRA/SEC rules and regulations
  • Supervises sales activities of assigned registered representatives including the review of daily trade activity and performing suitability reviews for all investment sales including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs and Annuities
  • Performs initial reviews of outside business activities and private securities transactions
  • Performs review of advertising and sales literature
  • Reviews and approves securities related correspondence
  • Reviews and approves electronic communications and social media
  • Assists in Field-related investigations as needed/requested
  • Reviews RR responses to annual compliance and outside business activity questionnaires
  • Documents RR activity and issues and provide monthly report to Field Leadership
  • Oversees the workload distribution of the FSS teams
  • Provides training to team members on new policies and procedures
  • Manages the performance of team members and provide guidance and training when necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Ability to travel as needed


Required Skills

Required Experience
  • 10+ years supervisory experience with a Broker/Dealer or RIA.
  • Experience managing and leading a successful team
  • Working knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations related to securities and insurance industries

Education/Licenses/Professional Designations

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • FINRA Series 7, 24, 66 required
  • FINRA Series 53, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Life Insurance license a plus
