The Special Events & Promotions Manager will research, plan and manage assigned events and promotions for the resort. This position is a key member of the promotions and events team responsible for taking ownership of their assigned areas. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

Primary Job Duties - Includes, but is not limited to:
- Manage assigned event and promotions areas to ensure successful resort events and promotions including casino tournaments, events; resort wide seasonal or other marketing and promotion activations including F&B, retail and entertainment.
- Assist F&B, HR, Entertainment departments with planning and operation of events.
- Coordinate with multiple resort departments and outside vendors for event execution.
- Assist with creative requests for graphic design team and advertising agency.
- Assist Director in tracking and reporting of collateral request timelines and statuses.
- Manage assigned event logistics including registration and post event surveys and feedback.
- Manage hourly and temp events staff for assigned event areas.
- Coordinate with Las Vegas entertainment venues as needed to develop off-site events.
- Attend assigned events to oversee execution and provide event support.
- Stay informed on trends and technologies in the event and related industries.
- Collaborate with other events and promotions team members to create post event reports and summaries to with recommendations on items for enhancement to ensure continual improvement.
- Mentor coordinator level event & promotions staff and provide regular feedback and evaluations.
- Ensure departmental practices are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- Occasional travel may be required to assist in the operation of marketing trips.
- Ensure assigned promotions and event assets and collateral are updated and displayed correctly throughout property.
- Work with player services desk and hotel leadership to ensure all event and promotions rules and details are communicated and available as needed.
- Create event and promotion fact sheets and distribute to key departments throughout resort.
- Create welcome letters, identify and recommend gifts and manage their distribution.
- Manage required HR functions for assigned coordinator and hourly staff.
- Ensure that required licensing is maintained & updated.
- Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- At least five years of experience in special events or related operational area.
- At least three years in a leadership/management role in a similar or related field.
- Strong computer skills – word processing, excel, graphic management, e-mail.
- Ability to occasionally travel for event related marketing trips or activations.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Polished appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to successfully lead and mentor a team.
- At least 21 years of age.
Preferred:
- Fluent in more than one language.
- Event Planning or other related professional certifications.
- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
