The Manager of IT Business Analysis is embedded with the Information Technology business unit working with leaders to identify business requirements, scope projects, develop documentation, communicate progress, and test solutions. This person collaborates with leaders to align high profile Information Technology Projects across multiple teams and stakeholders, both internal and external to the Information Technology department. They establish credibility and rapport with stakeholders and project team members through planning and coordination of project and operational deliverables.
Responsibilities
Requirements Definition and Analytics
- Design the methods IT Business Analysts will use to develop requirements in any given project. Drive the business toward a common project methodology, and mature the organization's capabilities over time.
- Perform gap analyses on current state infrastructure, integrations, data flows across the enterprise
- Collaborate with leaders to scope and forecast projects, stakeholder needs, and objectives
- Conduct research and analysis in order to come up with solutions to business problems and help to introduce these systems to stakeholders and/or project teams
- Perform testing when appropriate to ensure defined requirements have been met
- Use reports to plan, deliver, and provide quality assurance of services to customers to drive satisfaction
- Identify process gaps through the analysis of requirements, data, and information received from stakeholders
- Lead data management and cleanup when projects require
- Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders
- Assess change-proposals and define solutions to help the organization achieve its goals
IT Project Management
- Assist in the management of the project portfolio and IT roadmap
- Participate in planning and resource allocation
- Contribute to IT operational planning including systems design
- Engages with individuals and teams to ensure optimal performance, employee engagement, development, and collaboration within and across teams
- Provides ongoing mentoring, coaching and feedback to employees to support optimal performance and development
What You'll Need
Education
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Skills
- Ability to effectively interact with business partners at varying levels of the organization
- Solid verbal and written skills to translate business needs and requirements
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to develop insights and draw conclusions beyond what is readily apparent
- In-depth understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making
- Familiarity leveraging technology, tools and process improvements to develop innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement
- Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work successfully in a high-energy, fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines, organizational goals, and initiatives
- Ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams
- Knowledge of current trends and innovations in technology infrastructure and SaaS applications
- Database architecture and design
- IT System architecture development
- Strong team leadership and development
- Facilitation, negotiation, problem resolution
- Specific knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in information technology business analysis activities, including but not limited to requirements gathering, data analysis, process improvement discovery
- Experience analyzing and managing complex technical project requirements with cross-functional teams
- Experience working in a cloud environment
- Experience using a variety of project approaches
