Job Summary and Qualifications This position is responsible for management of colleagues in the Health and Safety department and leads, executes the day to day operational needs of the Employee Health and Safety Program. This includes promoting and managing safety and wellness programs, oversee physical security controls for the enterprise, advise Design and Construction around evidence-based security design and manage all illness, observation and near miss investigations. This manager will function as the right hand of leadership in conducting site audits, supporting external pharma audits of environmental and security controls and leading our Health and Safety program toward world class standardization and OSHA accreditation. Additional responsibilities will be to draft policies that support safety, security and wellness for all Sarah Cannon corporate and clinical locations. Lastly, this role will serve as the BCP Coordinator for Sarah Cannon as we build and mature our program.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead PUREOHS Case Management efforts for all injuries, observations, illnesses and near misses for enterprise
- Ensure technology and systems are standardized to monitor threats and risks enterprise wide. This could include liaising with Mckesson and/or HCA Physical Security requirements
- Proactively conduct risk assessments to include research, design, development and implementation solutions for systems, upgrades, repairs and change outs
- Track risks and issues, work with leadership and stakeholders to develop short and long term strategies to implement solutions
- Utilizes CPP/CSP/ASIS expertise to complete annual site audits and work with Director to Facilitate and remediation findings with leadership/key stakeholders
- Develop security guidelines and procedures in support of Business Continuity processes at all Sarah Cannon sites
- Review and investigate all security related incidents at Sarah Cannon sites and liaise with property management groups on findings and prevention strategies
- Create and generate monthly dashboard reporting information to leadership regarding security and safety related issues. This includes development of metrics and reporting from PUREOHS and other data feeds.
- Research, analyze and test access control systems, reconcile security access reports and support audit findings as it relates to all security systems to optimize operations.
- Liaise with Information Technology and IPS as well as Chief Compliance Officer and other department leads on maximizing security and protection of people, facilities and information.
- Lead all access conrol efforts for the organization around badging, including audits, reconciliations and remediation of technical needs with access vendors
- Advise and ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission safety regulations for both clinical and non-clinical environments through audits and US Department of Labor Reporting
- Liaise with EEOC, Infragard, local LE, FBI and Department of Homeland Security to parse through declassified information and communicate appropriately as it relates to risks to Sarah Cannon
- Act as the point of contact for law enforcement, fire and EMS resources to strengthen relationships, maximize opportunities for collaboration and partnerships and strengthen support
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as OSHA/DOT/IATA
- Lead the Safety Warden program for enterprise including quarterly training, certifications and compliance to local NFPA laws, regulations and drills
- Conduct job hazard analysis and ergonomics evaluations for roles within Sarah Cannon, not limited to corporate or clinical roles
- Serve as certified alternate to the Safety Officer/AVP when required
- Develop policies and manage documentation related to security, safety and business continuity
- Administer programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals to manage colleague health and safety
- Facilitate and take appropriate action on all injuries and near misses as presented through the Health and Safety Committee
- Provide observation, assessment, and management of both the colleague and the work environment for safety and injury prevention
- Lead the colleague Safety team and coordinate all components of the Risk Reduction Program and model Safety and Security Program
- Create, maintain, and disperse the monthly Colleague Health & Safety Newsletter
- Oversee content and upkeep of the Health and Safety sharepoint site, at least quarterly
- Direct investigation of all personal injury accidents occurring to staff to the appropriate senior official
- Respond to colleague safety concerns, address the concern with senior staff and ensure appropriate actions are taken to correct the concern
- Lead surveillance program initiatives for all coordinators around surveillance programs such as flu, COVID. This is to include the newhire health screening program for TB/HEP B.
Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree
- 3+ Years of Relevant Experience (5+ Preferred)
Preferred:
- CPP – Certified Protection Professional
- CSP – Certified Safety Professional
- Current or Former Law Enforcement experience or experience in healthcare security and safety of at least 5+ years
