Manager, Manufacturing Engineering:

Singer Vehicle Design (SVD): is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering :to join our world-class team. A team that is redefining what an iconic performance automobile can be.

Singer Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for the creation of standard work. The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for a cross-functional ME team covering the entire value stream from donor to completed vehicle and all processes in between. This is a dynamic position that requires the ability to create and manage project timelines while driving improvement in all areas with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You will define manufacturing planning templates, own process definition, quality standards, and cost reduction initiatives. The manufacturing engineering team will be responsible for new product introduction and scaling production to meet rate and cost targets.

Core Requirements::

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.

• 5+ years of experience working in a production/manufacturing or operations environment, with emphasis on manufacturing planning, material flow, and process improvement.

• 3+ years in operational leadership, Experience managing 10+ direct reports.

• Extensive knowledge of lean and experience applying lean principles.

• Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive projects with diverse teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Pareto Analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Action experience.

• Experience implementing ERP systems.

Summary of Essential Job Functions::

• Implement process improvement methodologies and tools (e.g. value stream mapping, problem-solving, visual management, etc.) to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues, increase production rates, and remove waste from processes across multiple departments.

• Support day-to-day production of the Singer Vehicles and components hand-in-hand with technicians, quality, supply chain.

• Analyze and disposition manufacturing discrepancies and interface with the quality team on root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on best-in-class operations practices by leading process-improvement workshops; providing training and information briefs on key topics.

• Provide mentorship, coaching, and overall strategic guidance to production and engineering teams.

• Develop and maintain manufacture and test planning for processes, products, and integration.

• Develop and optimize production processes in alignment with labor cost targets.

• Create and manage manufacturing BOMs, work instructions, and specifications. You will be required to develop, educate, update, and improve standards.

• Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet production demand.

• Responsible for developing and qualifying new processes to take products from design to production.

• Create and or improve Preventative Maintenance plans for tools, tooling, shop aids, equipment, and facilities.

Ability requirements::

• Proficient working with SQL, Excel, or similar data analysis software.

• Experience with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Jira.

• Experience with developing, optimizing, and analyzing assembly and test processes.

• Ability to influence without authority.

• Strong project management skills.

• Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

• Experience driving cross-functional change across the entire organization.

• Experience bringing teams and processes from a development phase to full production.

• Experience monitoring, tracking, and continually improving the total cost equation.

• Extensive detailed material flow analysis experience to make data-influenced decisions and summarize results for executives.

• Experience quantitatively solving ambiguous factory design problems at a system level.

• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience designing greenfield facility layouts and/or material flow strategy.
