Who would I interact with?
In this role you will partner with the Director, Benefits and works closely with HR, Payroll, Corporate and Field management, other Benefit Managers in the department. You will also interact closely with AutoNation's legal department to ensure benefits compliance as well as developing administrative policies and guidelines for application with the outsourced benefits administration vendor.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Direct the implementation and administration of all benefit programs for active, inactive and COBRA participants through the benefits administration vendor. Monitor and evaluate performance standards and track accordingly. Onsite reviews and training of the administration vendor is required on an as needed basis.
- Oversight of benefits administration vendor to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Monitor COBRA, Direct Bill, HIPAA and ACA administration, qualified life event verification, dependent certifications, working spouse certification and all other standards/policies for compliance. Research new government and ERISA regulations to determine applicability to the company's plans. Establish policy recommendations for senior management review.
- Respond to second level ERISA eligibility, COBRA, LOA, and other appeals related to the administrative process administered via the outsourced vendor.
- Develop the project plan for annual and off cycle enrollments and manage all aspects of the enrollment process, payroll deduction changes, script and web changes/testing, enrollment package development, confirmation statements, and backend premium and carrier billing changes required.
- Support benefits intranet site updates.
- Develop employee and HR manager training and communications and conduct employee enrollment meetings for acquisitions and during annual enrollment as required.
- Negotiate out of scope project plans and fees with outsourced vendor within budget.
- Participate in the selection, training and development of the vendor team as needed.
- Manage and monitor other vendors as assigned to ensure compliance with the contract provisions and performance guarantees negotiated.
- Develop, train, and manage the Benefit Analyst to ensure deliverables are met timely and accurately.
- Routinely audit the outsourced benefit administration vendor to ensure requirements are being followed and manage ongoing established audits.
- Develop, implement, and manage requirement documents.
- Lead vendor enrollment platform upgrade for successful launch with no employee impact.
Qualification Mandatory:
- Two to three years' experience in managing health and welfare benefit programs and/or benefit administration outsourced vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong customer service skills and project management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills required.
- Proficiency in utilizing MS Office software-MS Excel, Power Point, and Word.
Qualifications Preferred:- Five plus years' experience in managing health and welfare benefit programs and/or benefit administration outsourced vendors.
- CEBS or other benefits accreditation preferred.
- Experience with laws, regulations and government policy related to Health &Welfare benefit
