Maintenance Technician

** Weekend shift opportunity - Friday-Sunday, 6am-6pm **The primary role of the Weekend Maintenance Technician is to support the weekend plant operations through the Preventive Maintenance program, troubleshooting, and repairs to sustain continuous production.
All the duties will be done following established GMPs, SQF, OSHA regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines, including LOTO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs preventive maintenance, diagnosis and repair on equipment and machinery to assure efficient and safe operating conditions.
- Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
- Troubleshoot and repair processing equipment and packaging machinery to safely and quickly bring equipment back to production and fully operation.
- Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include Lockout/Tag-out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness, food and equipment safety and efficient productivity.
- Maintains a team effort attitude and approach.
- Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Management.
- Associate degree in a technical field, or 3+ years of experience repairing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical machines in a manufacturing facility.
- Mechanical and Electrical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret written and verbal direction while working in a safe, effective and productive manner within a fast paced environment.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems using 480 volt 3 phase as well as 240 volt through 24 volt single phase systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and VFDs hardware including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider PLCs as well as others used in the field.
- Light fabrication, cutting and welding experience is preferred.
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift.
