Maintenance Technician Position Summary:

Responsible for the routine and preventative maintenance of the organization building(s) inside and outside. Requires ability to capture work via documentation to maintain preventative logs; solve operational problems; diagnose cause of malfunctioning equipment; maintain vendor relations; plan, prioritize and direct projects.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician :

  • Maintain scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on, but not limited to: H.V.A.C., elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generator, landscape, kitchen equipment and emergency pull cord equipment
  • Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, carpentry work, painting and equipment repair
  • Respond to maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair in their rooms
  • Maintain positive communications with local fire marshal, building inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community.
  • Assesses all plumbing and electrical problems within the community to determine the best action to take within local and state codes.
  • Document safety issues as well as physical plan deficiencies related to local, county, state and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain communication with local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector and any other local agencies.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • One to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent training from a technical school.

Special Licenses and other Special Requirements:

Valid State Driver’s License required for vehicle travel, as needed.
