Position Start Date As soon as possible Salary/Wage $25.04/hr - $31.79/hr Terms/Schedule 1.0 FTE, permanent position Appointment Type Full Time Description The Maintenance II – Plumber performs general duties for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing facility plumbing, heating, air conditioning, irrigation, systems, and components as directed by the Director of Buildings and Grounds. Essential Job Functions • Maintains cleanliness and safety of sidewalks and parking lots; including salting, sanding, and removing excess snow. • Plows and removes snow/ice during the winter months. • Service and repair building plumbing and heating equipment such as pipes, valves, pumps, water closets, and vacuum breakers. • Service, repair, and clean facility sewer systems, i.e. drains, clean outs, traps and garbage disposals. • Service and repair pneumatic and gas lines. • Repair and perform seasonal maintenance on irrigation systems. • Test/document test of cross connection devices • Service and repair departmental equipment including lab, kitchen, and shop equipment. • Install new equipment/systems. • Perform preventative maintenance on water, sewer, and gas distribution systems and update as-built drawings. • Account for and maintain all tools and testing devices. • Prepare cost estimates as required and prepare records of labor and material costs. • Instruct and assist Maintenance I personnel in minor repairs of equipment and plumbing systems. • Maintains facility plantings, beds, and landscape areas. • May research and obtain pricing estimates on equipment and supplies. • Order and purchase supplies and equipment as directed. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED. • Current Wisconsin Journeyman (master’s preferred) Plumbers License • Cross Connection Device Certification • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
