This individual will work with the senior maintenance to handle all preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment such as saws, conveyors, compressors, and presses. Responsibilities include repairing or replacing control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed; troubleshooting issues, repairing equipment failures, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness; perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments. May propose process improvements in order to increase finished quality or efficiency of assembly processes. Must take proactive measures to report any and all possible future equipment problems to management. Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related production goals. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. Performs routine cleanup. Other duties may be assigned. · Ability to set up, repair, maintain, and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment. · Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment. · Ability to communicate with supervisor and other associates (strong communication skills). · Ability to learn and recognize various products used throughout the process. · Ability to learn technical information about the equipment. · Ability to read work orders and follow instructions. · Ability to do Arithmetic Operations. (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division) · Ability to read a tape measure. · Ability to use, repair, and maintain the various assembly machines safely, including computerized equipment. · Ability to use, repair, and maintain the various saws safely. · Ability to use, repair, and maintain various Pneumatic staple and nail guns safely. · Ability to operate Welding equipment safely. · Ability to perform job in accordance with OSHA regulations. · This person must be focused on performing repairs and maintenance quickly and efficiently to meet quality and production goals. · Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication skills. · Ability to use and operate a forklift * If you are required to operate a forklift you must go through training, pass the OSHA certification test, and receive an operator's license. Physical Demands · Lifting in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, and / or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or in excess of 25 pounds constantly to move objects in a range of 50 feet. · Bending, stooping or squatting to floor level on a repetitive basis. · Reaching overhead to grasp materials. · Standing and / or walking for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). · Turning and twisting up to 90 degrees. · Coordination of Hand-Eye · Coordination of Mind-Eye · Repetitive wrist motion. · Repetitive elbow motion. · Repetitive hand motion. · Repetitive finger motion Environmental and Physical Working Conditions · Work inside of warehouse 98 per cent of the time and outside 2 per cent or less. · Periodic temperature below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees during the winter and summer seasons (ambient temperatures). · Subject to nuisance dust periodically. · Subject to exhaust fumes from forklifts during short periods of time. · Required to wear OSHA approved steel-toed safety shoes or boots. · Required to wear hearing protection as outlined in the company safety program. · Required to wear eye protection as outlined in the company safety program. Essential Functions and Responsibilities · Comply with all company rules and regulations. · Housekeeping of warehouse and general work area. · Read and understand work-orders, tags and tickets. · Perform daily maintenance on equipment and tools. · Notify supervisor of any materials short to produce product. · Work with co-workers to ensure that all jobs are complete and accurate. · Operate all assembly machines, saws and hand tools safely.
