Job Summary:
Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment in facilities in a safe manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install main electrical power supply wiring and conduit for equipment as directed by management. This will include, but not limited to robots, welders, presses, hydraulic components, furnaces, etc.
- Connect power supply wires to machine and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment per industry standard and electrical codes.
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, PLC's and lighting fixtures and replace damages or broken wires/cables. Calculate proper fuse/circuit breaker configuration if not provided by original equipment supplier. Use PC's and other interface equipment to program and diagnose PLC's and electronic equipment controls
- Diagnose and replace faulty hydraulic and pneumatic electrical components of machines and equipment
- Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices. Replace motor bearings
- Diagnose and replace faulty electronics components
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance workers
- Ensure all safety policies are followed at all times, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out
- Regularly inspect and evaluate electrical and electronic equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintains records on equipment status and maintenance
- Study blueprints and schematics to establish best method of repair or replacement. Identify and determine material/electrical requirements with part numbers and equipment required
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman license or Electro-Mechanical degree required
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8-9 hours per day
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally
