JOB SUMMARY Provides general maintenance support for hospital campuses, satellite facilities, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Office Park. Ensures that facilities, including equipment and grounds (where applicable), are maintained in a safe and aesthetically pleasing condition to provide an environment appropriate for the wellbeing of patients, visitors, and staff. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. EDUCATION

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
  • Performs groundskeeping on parking lots, walkways, and buildings grounds.
  • Keeps accurate, legible records of all work performed in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Receives and obtains materials according to departmental procedures and observes proper onsite handling of equipment and materials in compliance with system policies and procedures, infection control, safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
  • Communicates and works directly with supervisors and management, clinical personnel, patients, and other staff to ensure that an optimum patient care and business environment is provided.
  • Maintains good public relations by responding professionally and promptly to the needs of all customers.
  • Meets all in-service requirements per system and department policy.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and support for family-centered care philosophy while supporting and participating in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided.
  • Picks up discarded items on building grounds, empties external trash receptacles, pressure washes walkways, and cleans mechanical rooms and painted equipment/surfaces.
  • Vacuums supply and return vents/sprinkler heads within the building.
  • Re-lamps light fixtures as needed.
  • Assists engineers/mechanics as needed.
  • Provides traffic control as needed during peak hours for Parking and Transportation.
  • Assists cashiers in Parking and Transportation for breaks as needed.
  • Refills tickets and parking ticket dispenser in parking lots.
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES* Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
