Maintenance and Technical Leader

Position: Maintenance/Technical Leader
Location: Mogadore
The Maintenance Supervisor will have daily responsibilities to include leading maintenance and mechanical teams to support all departments of the facility with a focus on maximizing utilization, labor, and resources. Will ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies and support TPM. Will hire, train, supervise, review and discipline employees in the maintenance department. Ensure that all work ordered is completed on time and according to quality standards, and that spending on supplies used to complete maintenance remains within budgetary constraints.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain sufficient inventories of tools, parts and supplies to properly repair the equipment.
- Maintains systems for monitoring and tracking service requests, preventive maintenance work performed, compliance with Hazard Communications program requirements, and compliance with safety and SEAL requirements.
- Regularly inspects machinery for safety issues, including, but not limited to guarding, non-functioning lights, ground and trip hazards, broken pieces, and exposed wiring.
- Works with maintenance staff to ensure that resident maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely manner and that proper follow-through is done.
- Schedules maintenance employees according to scheduled shifts.
- Works with maintenance employees and other technical staff to develop an effective, proactive team that works together to achieve plant objectives.
- Ensures adherence to company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures maintenance staff correctly wears and uses safety equipment, as required. Also, ensures that all safety inspections are completed as required.
- Works with the team to establish goals, priorities, and expectations, and to develop the action plans and strategies for accomplishing them.
Ability to:
- Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over others.
- Inspect maintenance work for completeness and thoroughness.
- Be a hands-on leader, able to jump in and assist
- Train others on maintenance/repair techniques, processes, and practices, growing the team's knowledge and skill levels for the future
- Interpret operational data for compliance and prepare basic operational reports.
- Assess employee skill development needs using the Performance Management & Development Process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends as part of regular schedule.
- Consumer products industry experience, preferred.
- Experience managing a maintenance or mechanic’s staff
- Some work experience with PLC
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
