Primary Objective:

Provides production support in all areas of the plant as needed. This position will float in all departments and be prepared to run all areas for the business unit to support the facility in any aspect needed to be a successful startup and transition into a functioning business unit.

Major Function and Scope:

A Machine Operator I is responsible for supporting the overall manufacturing process, through the application of broad knowledge to solve operational, as well as routine tasks in the production of wood flooring.

  • Operate diverse machines forklifts, make glue, handle and grade material, and quality checks
  • Start up new and existing machinery and line operation components as needed for continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide all needed assistance to other maintenance team members and production employees as necessitated.
  • Follow safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and quality policies and regulations.
  • Keep workspace clean and organized to maximize safety and productivity. Offer suggestions for workspace improvement.

Knowledge, Experience, and Competencies:

  • Highschool diploma preferred
  • 1+ year(s) of experience working in manufacturing preferred
  • Proficient with computer skills needed for data entry.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and lift or push weights up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to multi task and work unsupervised
  • Willingness to develop and grow as the business grows
  • Willingness to learn and be proficient in all areas assigned by management.

This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, dust, noise from machinery and fumes

Other working conditions may include working long hours and flexible shifts

Required safety equipment: steel toed shoes, ear plugs, gloves, face mask and safety glasses
