BriteLife Recovery is an inaptient Substance Abuse facility opening in Hanover, PA which will provide detox and residential level of care. We are looking for experienced and passionate nurses to join our nursing team.
Currently, we are looking for full time overnight nurses.
JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse is responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment for clients all clients of BriteLife Recovery.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists clinical team with the Admissions process;
- Administers medications, treatments and procedures according to standard nursing practices and applicable facility policies;
- Carries out a plan of care and medication orders from Physicians and Nurse Practitioners;
- Educates clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observes for side effects;
- Assesses and Monitors clients’ physical and psychological status during intoxication, withdrawal and stabilization;
- Maintains electronic health records (EHR);
- Obtains vital signs, alcohol breath content; conducts blood glucose level, TB and urinalysis testing;
- Performs phlebotomy when ordered;
- Provides crisis management (often involving intoxicated clients);
- Positively promotes BriteLife Recovery @ Hanover to prospective clients and employees.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current LPN or RN license in good standing in Pennsylvania.
- 1-2 years of experience as a licensed nurse preferred
- Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR
- Experience working with alcohol or substance abuse treatment preferred.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency.
- Two years of continuous sobriety if in recovery preferred

- Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients in a professional manner.
- Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance abuse.
- Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
- Ability to screen for danger to self or others.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities.
- Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
- Participation in continuing Professional Development.
- Understanding of the benefits and limitations of toxicology testing procedures.
- Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug abuse.
- Knowledge of medication-assisted therapy.
- Ability to provide education and information to individuals and groups, through formal and/or informal processes, concerning their substance abuse.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.
