The LPN provides patient care at the direction of the RN or physician based on the patient’s needs and the care setting. The LPN performs technical nursing procedures according to standards, regulation and policies and procedures. The LPN assists with the collection of patient data, assists with the implementation of treatment, education and discharge plans. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and multidisciplinary patient care. The LPN delegates to unlicensed providers and supervises assistive personnel. The LPN is responsible for care delegated to him/her that falls within the scope of practice for the LPN in the state of Alabama. After one year of Clinical Experience with Basic Intravenous Therapy, the LPN will complete the Advanced Intravenous Therapy (IV Push) for the LPN Course. (Excludes Psychiatric LPN) Education REQUIRED: Graduate of School of Practical Nursing. Licenses/Certificates REQUIRED: Licensed by the State of Alabama Board of Nursing as an LPN Also REQUIRED: Must be in good academic standing (Defined as B average or 2.7 GPA). Must provide a letter of reference from two current instructors. Candidates must submit Curriculum Plan and letter of validation from School of Nursing denoting current status and anticipated graduation date.
