Description
Performs a broad range of building control installation services. The HVAC Controls installer contributes to the effective operation of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems. The installer will be responsible to perform a variety of skilled tasks required for the installation of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Direct Digital Control (DDC), and Energy Management Control (EMCS) Systems. These duties include work requiring technical competence, physical capability; troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude along with general knowledge of commercial construction sites.
- Installs DDC control panels, actuators, DDC sensors, damper and motors, IT cable, conduit, wire, along with other HVAC machinery and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, control schematics, blueprints, electrical code specifications, and diagrams for installation and repair of building control systems and HVAC equipment.
- May be asked to respond to emergency calls that are a result of mechanical/HVAC failure both during and after regular hours of work.
- Ensures that all work is done according to standard practices, design specifications, and local building codes. Changes in standard practices may change and the ability to adapt to changes is required.
- Liaisons with others (contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and owners) on project work.
- Maintains clean and orderly conditions in all working areas and job sites.
- Ensures duties are performed in a fiscally responsible manner while observing all safety practices and regulations.
Requirements
- An individual must be able to perform the major duties and responsibilities at a successful level.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
- Certified Electricians or current enrollment in a certified Apprentice School is a big plus.
- Must pass background check and drug test.
- Valid Alabama State Drivers License with dependable transportation.
One or more years of experience is preferred but will train the right person. Intermediate knowledge of HVAC, Electrical Systems, and/or Direct Digital Controls is a plus.

Pay: $12.00 - $23.00 per hour
