The Long-Term Substitute implements and delivers curriculum and helps direct students’ activities to reach their fullest potential, in the specified academic areas as well as the community as a whole. This role will be full time 7:30 am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, Beginning January 31, 2022, and ending May 13, 2022.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implements all curricula within the designated subject area(s) following IBMYP guidelines based on the plans left by the Teacher.
- Keeps records of all parent communications and shares them with Middle School Head.
- Maintains updated assignments and records of each student’s progress in ManageBac on a timely basis.
- Maintains updated class information on the school website through OnCampus.
- Maintains organization in the designated classroom.
- Plans, prepares and conducts conferences with parents as one of the team.
- Works cooperatively with other members of the Middle School faculty
- Works with another teacher to support a student advisory group through one on one meetings and team building activities as assigned.
- Accompanies students on day-long trips as assigned.
- Communicates with parents, administrators, and student support staff concerning the emotional and physical well-being of students.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Head of School or the Middle School Head.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching experience.
- Ability to interact and communicate appropriately and professionally with parents, students, and colleagues.
