Logistics Manager

Job Description: Develop and administer an efficient global supply chain Reports To: Sr. Vice President Duties and Responsibilities: - Manage the development and monitoring of a strong, worldwide supply base and logistics services.
- Manage carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with domestic and global carriers
- Manage freight forwarders for cost effectiveness and quality of service
- Collaborate with Kyocera-AVX sites locally and globally to set-up incoming and outgoing shipments
- Keep up to date on shipping carriers, routes and rates and any changes to them and report out to management, as necessary
- Identify opportunities for improvement of cost, lead times and total quality of services
- Manage projects related to logistics
- Identify month end freight charges to correct accounts for payment
- Projects as assigned.
Job Requirements: - BS/BA Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Purchasing, Operations or Supply Chain positions
- Strong Leadership skills
- Ability to travel.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, Oracle, SAP.
- Ability to cope with constantly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently while meeting multiple deadlines.
