Travel Required: 10-25% Public Trust: None Requisition Type: Regular GDIT has a new and exciting opportunity for a Logistics Analyst at our Regional Support Center at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, to support Southwest Asia. Must have a current and active Secret clearance, and a Transferable Kuwait Residency Visa 18. This position will perform the daily operation of the overall supply chain management. It requires a self-motivated person who can provide clear direction and make command decisions on the spot to achieve the organization's aims.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: This position requires eligibility to obtain a Kuwaiti Work Permit. Effective January 1, 2021, Kuwait will not issue a Work Permit to an individual who is 60 years of age or older and has only a high school education. This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021, or the start date, if after December 8.
Note: Most logisticians work during regular business hours. When dealing with delivery problems or other logistical issues, they may work adjusted hours to ensure operations stay on schedule.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring customer expectations are met, exceeded, and managed as cost-effectively as possible.
- Responsible for inventory control to accounting for property received, shipped, excessed, moved, or transferred.
- Responsible for GCSS maintenance operation
- Responsible for all purchasing, shipping and transportation, inventory, warehousing, and delivery activities.
- Oversee business relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Oversee the full order cycle.
- Responsible for the overall performance of the logistical operations.
- Explain proposed solutions to customers, management, or other interested parties through written proposals and oral presentations.
- Review proposals and performance specifications between suppliers/subcontractors and the organization.
- Maintain strong attention to detail.
- Maintain a positive attitude and be a part of a cohesive team.
- Plan and manage logistics, inventory, transportation, and customer services.
- Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure the delivery of products on time and to the right location.
- Compile and maintain metrics and CDRLs and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
- Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Compile, submit, and analyze accurate daily, weekly, and monthly CDRL reports
- Carry out any additional duties requested.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
- An active and current U.S. government SECRET clearance.
- Extensive knowledge and certifications in the Global Combat Support System-Army, Procurement Management systems, Asset Management Systems, Transportation Management.
- 10 to 15 years of proven leadership experience in an industrial or commercial logistics environment.
- B.A. or equivalent and 3 years of related experience (One year of military experience may be substituted for one year of academic requirements to fulfill the bachelor's degree requirement. Master's degree is preferred but not required).
- Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or on teams to handle multiple projects.
- Experience working in hostile and austere environments.
- Experience in stock control and asset management.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform several tasks at one time, keep detailed records, and simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Calmness under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to use independent judgment when there are no policies or procedures in place.
- A current U.S. passport with more than 2 years remaining before expiration and at least 4 blank consecutive pages for VISA stamps.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- A graduate of the U.S. Army Automated Logistical Specialist (MOS 92A) or Unit Supply Specialist (MOS92Y) course or a graduate of a technical school or manufacturer's instruction course.
- Expensive experience with Global Combat Support System- Army
- Preference is given for military credentials/experience.
- Experience in a forward-facing customer support role.
- Excellent customer presence.
