Summary:

Resource Solutions is working in partnership with JP Morgan Chase, one of the oldest financial institutions in the United States. With a history dating back over 200 years, and a presence in over 100 markets, JP Morgan Chase employs over 250,000 people globally.

Purpose:

With the adoption of “cloud native” technologies and desire to move to hybrid cloud model we are developing solutions to improve the “developer experience” with these technologies, part of this is to develop an alternate enterprise desktop based on Linux (RHEL). If you have passion for Cloud Native, DevOps, Linux, Automation and Open Source, analysing and writing code, diagnosing problems, supporting services to a growing community and have a good appreciation for customer experience , you’ll be a good fit!

In partnership End User Platform, the Linux Engineering is responsible for producing and maintaining the Linux builds and life cycles, core standards and associated technologies used throughout the bank. This includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, Cloud, Containers, x86 hardware, Security and Automation products. Security, Stability, Automation and Innovation are key common themes for all our offerings.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Sr. Linux Engineer to join a Linux Engineering project to:

• Deliver an automated and secure Linux Desktop service to end users.
• Develop the Linux Desktop service using VMware to host virtual machines and Citrix to provide “virtual desktops”. The solution will be fully automated following SDLC, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code practises.
• Enhance, automate and add innovation to any of our existing solutions and services. You will also assist developing skills within our existing SRE teams to help support and maintain the service.
• You must have a good working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), strong DevOps skills and preferably experience with large scale enterprise environments.

Technical Skills/Education Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related area
• Min. 7 years’ experience working on high-profile, high availability systems, including design and deployment

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $58.00 - $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Role will initially be remote/virtual until JPMorgan Chase locations reopen some time in 2021.

Experience:

• Linux: 5 years (Preferred)
• Shell Scripting: 3 years (Preferred)
