Performs fire and life safety plan reviews on civil engineering drawings, architectural plans, fire Conducts research on various NFPA Standards and code bodies to determine appropriate Identifies inadequacies found on construction plans, reports and calculations, and requests Meets with design professionals, contractors, business owners, developers, general public and Mediates and develops mutually acceptable solutions to code conformance problems and life Fire & Life Safety Plans Examiner of 4 Prepared 7/26/2022 Creates plan review comment letters outlining design or installation deficiencies to design Prepares plans and documentation for issuance of permits. ? Conducts field inspections on new construction projects. ? Witnesses and documents testing and acceptance of fire protection systems. ? Conducts inspections of new, existing, and/or under construction buildings and businesses to Maintains a collaborative working relationship with City Building Officials and other public Issues court citations for uncorrected violations, testifies in court for issued citations and Receives and reviews various reports and documents for completeness, accuracy and content May be required to conduct investigations of fires to determine origin and cause; searches fire Attends training programs and seminars to update and maintain knowledge and skills and meet Operates a personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, fax machine, phone system, drafting May be re-assigned to the Operations Division under emergency condition and respond to Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Licenses or Certifications: ? Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 3 months of hire ? Possess and maintain Georgia Firefighter Certification or NPQI & NPQII ? Certification as a GA Fire Inspector (Preferred) ? Certification as a GA POST certified Peace Officer (Preferred) ? Certification as a GA Fire Investigator Level I & II (Preferred) Fire & Life Safety Plans Examiner of 4 Prepared 7/26/2022 Possess and maintain certification from NFPA as a Plans Reviewer ? Possess and maintain a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification ? Possess and maintain a valid State of Georgia driver’s license, with a satisfactory motor vehicle Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, and psychological Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ?
