Job Summary Eden Enterprises, Inc. (“Eden”) is seeking a Licensing & Compliance Manager to join our team. The Licensing & Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all Eden Operations, from seed to sale, remain compliant with applicable local, state, and federal laws, and will work closely with the various regulatory bodies, including the Bureau of Cannabis Control (“BCC”), the Department of Food and Agriculture CalCannabis (“CDFA”) and Department of Public Health and the Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch (“MCSB”) as well as local cities and counties in which Eden operates. The Licensing and Compliance Manager will be the primary compliance resource for our Retail, Distribution, Cultivation and Manufacturing operations. The Licensing and Compliance Manager will report to and work with the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel and Chief Licensing and Regulatory Compliance Officer. A successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with METRC as well as the ability to apply and interpret audit and compliance requirements for various departments, is a problem solver, enthusiastic, effective cross-functional communicator, reliable resource, and has previous experience auditing, investigating, and resolving the neverending array of cannabis compliance issues. Our ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience, is comfortable working with ambiguity and invigorated by the prospect of paving the way in a new industry! Key Responsibilities: Become an advanced METRC Administrator with the ability to train operations staff on the platform. Communicate and advise operations staff on METRC notices and updates. Respond to staff questions and coordinate reporting when necessary to BCC/METRC. Act as the primary contact for Eden's comprehensive in-house Compliance Program. Conduct quarterly audits of operational facilities as well as auditing paperwork and retained records from all departments to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory framework. Understand and communicate new regulations to applicable Departments to ensure continued compliance. Deliver and maintain compliance training for new hires and support continuing education requirements. Assist in drafting and updating SOPs to ensure compliance with all applicable Local, State and where applicable Federal regulations. Prepare compliance reports. Confirm that all packaging and labeling, as well as marketing and advertising, is compliant prior to distribution. Act as primary person for drafting and coordinating local and state applications. Maintain Eden’s agency portals and licensing – including new facilities, renewals, business modifications. Assist and at times lead inspections from cannabis Regulatory Agencies, local jurisdictions and/or law enforcement. Required Experience, Education, and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or similar field Minimum of 3 years of compliance or management experience, ideally in the regulated cannabis industry in California or mixed with another regulated industry, such as alcohol, tobacco, or manufacturing. Must have the ability to develop and foster strong working relationships throughout all levels of the organization. Demonstrated problem-solving skills; the ability to either predict and/or identify and drive problem/issue to resolution in partnership with stakeholders. Prior cannabis application management and drafting. Excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to successfully explain complex matters and provide persuasive support for positions with internal staff, regulators, outside partners and to communicate with all levels of the organization. Ability to successfully manage a high-volume workload with tight deadlines. Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities. Capable of handling confidential information discreetly and professionally. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Foundational and working knowledge of MAUCRSA and regulations. Previous METRC software experience. Additional Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older to apply Must be able to pass background check Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel skills. Key Skills: Attention to detail and accuracy. Working knowledge of PowerDMS and CannaRegs preferred. Position is based out of the Oakland Office with travel to operational sites - 20% time spent traveling.
