LIAISON CONTROLS ENGINEER (Lordstown, OH)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are currently looking for an experienced Controls specialist with solid Automotive experience (GM Experience
Highly Desired) to support Body Shop Equipment Installations. You will be part of the team Supporting installation of
Electrical Controls Systems (Hardware & Software) for Automotive Body Shop by providing technical expertise and guidance to Skilled trades and plant floor technical personnel.
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with installations of Manufacturing Controls Systems (Hardware &
Software), equipment, and automation including knowledge of conveyors, transfers, holding fixtures, tooling, robotics, and misc. automation.
- As part of controls team provide technical guidance and directions to Field Installation Team including Robotics
Techs, Electricians and other skilled trades during equipment installs and start-up and debug.
- Work closely with engineering team and understand the Body Shop Deliverables and equipment requirements.
- As Controls Liaison Engineer provide technical support and assistance to Field Installation Team by answering technical questions, interpreting drawing, electrical schematics, layout diagrams, and software logic.
- When required modify, reprogram, and document existing A-B PLC Logic and Siemens (HMI's) using existing OEM standards.
- Support tryout, debug, and provide start-up support for Body Shop controls.
- Review and update hardware design when required, including system changes and updates.
- Ensure that corporate controls standards for hardware and software are being met.
- Confirm and update project timelines and milestones, ensure that project schedule is on time.
- Use of AutoCAD or Eplan to design and/or modify controls drawings (desired but not required)
- Knowledge of OEM Controls standards and safety standards.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Min 5 years of Automotive Manufacturing Controls Experience in Automotive OEM.
- Min 5 years working with installation technicians, Robotic technicians, and skilled trades.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, and Robotics
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wire diagrams, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, panel layouts and plant layouts.
- PLCs & HMI’s and/or Robot Programming is a big plus.
- Start up and debug experience.
- Must be able to work OT and/or Holidays when required.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
