Harris, Finley & Bogle, P.C. is a professional law firm that practices civil law across the country from our offices in Fort Worth and Weatherford, TX. We are currently looking for an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal for our Weatherford location.

Purpose:

To provide administrative and legal support to the firm’s attorneys.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Accurately prepare and revise legal and non-legal documents according to attorney instructions in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with various courts, attorneys, clients, and vendors to obtain or provide information.
  • Maintain client and attorney files.
  • Maintain attorney calendar.
  • Enter time for own and others’ billable work.
  • File various documents with the appropriate entity, on paper and/or electronically.
  • Prepare requests for reimbursements and payments to courts and outside vendors.
  • Together with Time and Billing Administrator, prepare and review client bills.
  • Complete travel arrangements.
  • Complete client-billable work including but not limited to drafting documents, indexing documents and files, reviewing and preparing client discovery, summarizing information, and research.
  • Understand and follow document naming conventions.

Experience/Skills (Required):

  • Proven work experience as Legal Assistant/Paralegal.
  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, protocols and court system.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations in a legal office.
  • Proficiency in English language (written and verbal).
  • Excellent secretarial and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Take initiative and have a team player attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and have excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to work with varying personalities, will interact with all personnel.
  • Be able to operate office equipment (computers, calculators, fax machines, copy machines and telephone)

Preferred experience with Adobe Acrobat, iManage (document management) software and Juris programs.

Salary is based on prior work experience/history.

Must be able to work a standard 37.50 hour weekly schedule, Monday to Friday. There will be times when it will be required to work overtime.
