Fast-paced, small, North Scottsdale personal injury law firm seeking an experienced legal assistant with excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills. Must be self-motivated and able to multitask needing little supervision. Please do not apply unless you have experience working in a law office. We hire based on skills/abilities on a trial basis for up to 90 days to ensure it works for both parties. At that time, if both sides think it is a good fit we offer a permanent position. We want team players that want to be there, try hard and really care to help the victims of wrongful death and catastrophic injury. The position of legal assistant gives a wide range of skills. Here are some of the tasks/skills that we consider when determining a starting salary: calendaring, computer skills, oral communication skills, written communication skills, grammar strength (both oral and written), order timely medical records (constant follow up is critical), Bates stamp and organize medical records, chronology of medical records, depo summaries, lien work, ERISA knowledge, small pleadings (subpoenas, notice of deposition and notice of site inspection), discovery work (interrogatories, requests for admission, requests for production), research skills and Shepardizing, motion work (responses to dismiss and MSJ, MIL, etc.). Professional dress is expected. Salary ranges from $50,000 to $70,000.
