Job SummaryResponsible for conducting research to find the correct application(s) in the respective jurisdiction to obtain and renew any/all licenses necessary to conduct a food service operation including but not limited to Micro Markets and Health Permits for the Canteen Sector. Keep all licenses current and in compliance with the State, City and County jurisdictions. This position will also require administrative duties required by the Manager over this position as described below. This position is based out of Charlotte, NC and not qualified to work from home.
Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of License HQ database
- Must have experience of the license process
- Work experience with a law firm or in house Legal Department
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Independently prepare legal memoranda and other required paperwork needed for filing application packages with the appropriate licensing authorities. This includes completion of the applications with the correct entity information, calculating the appropriate fees, and providing all supporting documentation, such as insurance certificates, Articles of Incorporation, Certificates of Good Standing, Tax Clearance Certificates, etc.
- Provides consultation or expert advice to management involved licensing projects and investigate to resolve any issues related to the opening of new locations in a timely manner.
- Procuring vendor numbers through the Compass Owner’s Management Suite and process both manual and certified checks for payment of licenses.
- Order Worker’s Compensation insurance certificates and disability insurance certificates (DB120 and C105.2) as required for approval of licenses (if required).
- Act as a liaison between operation units and internal clients (outside counsel at the direction of Manager) to acquire information and paperwork to renew and apply for new licenses.
- Work closely with Compass Sales and Use, Income, Payroll and property Tax Departments and state/city tax departments to clear existing and potential tax issues.
- Answering questions from unit employees regarding corporate information and license inquires.
- Coordinate signatures as required from officers, unit managers, consultants and supervisory positions for various paperwork throughout the company.
- Maintain the License HQ database to ensure all licenses are up to date and correct information is current.
- Represents the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances related to all licensing matters.
- Provide supporting documentation to accounting and finance departments for client review.
- Assist with special projects as requested.
