Learning Specialist This is a 20 hour a week/part-time position.The role of the Learning Specialist is to support students with different learning styles by providing intervention and remediation; support teachers in their efforts to advance students with different learning needs within the classroom; work with parents, students, and outside professionals to better support students. Some specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Review standardized test data in both reading and math to identify students in need of additional support.Develop intervention plans and monitor student growth. Help teachers create differentiated lesson plans and assessments to accommodate the needs of all learners in the classroom. Co-teach, tutor individual students, or instruct small groups.
Develop a solid knowledge of grade-level curriculum maps to support teachers and students at each grade level. Use formative and summative assessment and document student progress and achievement; assess and analyze student strengths and needs; design and implement appropriate instruction to facilitate learning and growth.
