We are looking to add a Lead Scrum Master to our National IT organization!
The Lead Scrum Master’s role is to help RSM mature its agile practices to improve delivery to our firm’s end-users. The role is responsible for coaching and mentoring Scrum Masters as well as promoting agile best practices to teams focused on aligning with business strategies, relentless improvement and delivery of valuable solutions.
Essential Duties
- Coach agile best practices to scrum masters and scrum teams
- Lead team of scrum masters and identify areas of improvements for scrum teams
- Provides consultancy and acts as SME on agile principles and leading industry practices
- Coach teams and management towards improving Scrum/Kanban based agile process and metrics, evaluate and mentor existing teams.
- Mentors future Scrum Masters, Product Owners, teams and others on processes
- Launch and stabilize teams and programs using Agile frameworks
- Develop, implement and manage team metrics, evaluate team metrics and make recommendations to teams and management for improvements.
- Assesses performance of teams, identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations.
- Be servant leader of scrum teams
- Addressing any concerns
- Clearing any blockers
- Facilitate agile meetings/ceremonies for teams. Ensuring purposes are met, effectively and efficiently
- Radiate information from scrum team to product stakeholders (Product Owner, Project Managers, and Leadership).
- Escalating product risks, issues and blockers
- Communicate team velocity
- Create and communicate metrics
- Support Product Owners. Ensuring team clearly understands:
- Product Vision
- Product Roadmap
- Release Plan
- Sprint Objectives
- Support enterprise agile adoption and maturity across the enterprise by observing, evaluating, and implementing changes to solve organizational and cultural impediments to improve the agile transformation of a program or project.
- Collaborate with leadership to re-enforce and teach agile best practice
- Be relentless. Always driving team to improve culture, processes and delivery
- Communicate changes, intended goals, timelines and results
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
- One or more agile certifications preferred (e.g. CSM, CSPO, CSP, PSM, PSPO, SAFe).
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Knowledgeable about Agile principles and application.
- Capable of bridging the waterfall and agile frameworks as the transition to agile matures in the organization.
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills; adept at problem solving with team to analyze issues and opportunities to improve in working model and align on path forward for action.
- Energetic and skilled at engaging with different team members with different personalities.
- Ability to learn quickly and teach others by showing what worked and what did not work.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 years of iterative or agile-like development experience.
- Demonstrated training and change management experience.
- Experience interacting with senior level management.
- Experience interacting with the client.
- Demonstrated experience with meeting facilitation and negotiation.
- Demonstrated experience teaching technical teams agile framework concepts
- Demonstrated experience delivering technical solutions using various agile frameworks
