Lead IT Specialist Strider is revolutionizing the way companies, research institutions, and governments protect their innovation and compete in a new era of global strategic competition. As our Lead IT (Information Technology) Specialist, you will be the leader of our IT infrastructure and development platforms. You will manage office networking, VPN, laptop provisioning, and provide hardware and software troubleshooting. You will manage our AWS infrastructure and environment construction. The key ingredients to success are strong Linux administration skills, experience setting up and configuring Cloud instances for production and development, and a great background in configuring and maintaining Mac devices. Let’s be clear, this is a Mac and Linux shop – your Windows experience is useful, but not what we’re looking for. As we continue our rapid growth, you will manage additional IT resources as they are brought on. You’ll own it! What you will do: · Support several production applications. · Set up administrator and user accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, and install system-wide software. · Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT infrastructure · Perform Mac builds and maintenance for the company. · Support Mac OSX and Linux users. · Configure and maintain AWS instances for production and development environments. Act as the administrator of Cloud platforms, virtual servers, and systems. · Build, implement and support an automated MDM (like Jamf) and corporate provisioning model to support Linux and Mac OSX. · Scripting or light programming and project management for systems-related projects. The emphasis is on scripting experience with Python, BASH, PERL, or the like. · Install new software, troubleshoot, grant permissions to applications, and assist in training lesser experienced users. · Perform system updates, make recommendations on server configurations, and implement changes in multiple environments from test or development to production. · Deploy approved release packages and break-fix solutions in accordance with all enterprise architecture and configuration, change and release management policies and procedures. · Monitor infrastructure, systems operations, and critical application services; provide information and statistics relevant to system limits on capacity, data storage, system utilization, etc.; respond to critical outages and restore services promptly. · Help design and document infrastructure and processes for managing business operations. · Work with vendors and consultants to resolve issues as necessary What you will need to be successful: · Bachelor’s degree in a related field. · At least 5+ years of recent experience in a comparable role. · Strong general IT expertise and ability to adapt to a fluid technical environment. · Workforce device management and MAC provisioning experience is important. · Solid understanding of networking fundamentals. · Well versed in the fundamentals of the command line on Linux, to include scripting and modern automation tooling. · Experience using Jamf (or related tools) to configure and automate IT administration tasks. · Proficient in key Amazon Web Services (AWS) services and platforms within AWS framework (EC2, S3, LightSail, Route 53, Lambda) – the ability to configure and administer instances in production and development environments. Experience with Azure is as well desired and may be a substitute if necessary. · Proficiency in DevOps principles and the use of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Artifactory, Nexus, Bitbucket, etc. is desired, but not required. · Configuration and maintenance expertise with Office365 is desired, but not required. · Knowledge and practical experience with PaaS and IaaS categories of Cloud computing. · Ability to interact and build a working relationship with stakeholders to help develop an architecture strategy and processes, and deliver IT assets to meet business objectives. · First-rate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Diversity: Strider provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics. This position will be 100% remote for the the immediate future, but will ultimately be positioned in an office space in The McLean, Tysons Corner, or Reston, VA area, metro accessible. Once office hours resume, there will some remote options.
