Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

Located at the Tulsa, OK. Facility

Position Description

We seek a dedicated individual who reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day activities of the IC & E Department.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times & follow all Covanta Energy Corporation safety policies.
  • Provide leadership to the Instrument and Electrical team. The inspection and maintenance work required on the Facilities high medium and low volt systems, distribution, controls and equipment
  • Trouble shoot, assess, inspect and adjust, and make repairs, calibration, modify & install as needed to the Facilities Continuous Emission Monitoring systems (CEMs) systems as well all flow, pressure, temperature, level Instrumentation and data acquisition and historian devises. This includes but not limited to Transmitter flow device, level controls, temperature measurement, and flue gas analysis equipment. The candidate must have experience maintaining PLCs and DCS (ABB) systems to ensure facility safety and reliability.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks including routine calibration thermography & ultrasonic testing, and will actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment and sub components.
  • Research and plan projects that will affect the following budget year.
  • Must have strong computing skill in MS Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to maintain excellent records and documentation control
  • Read graphs and technical manuals.
  • Operate various calibration equipment.
  • Must be able to reference provincial & federal codes and environmental permits and translate them to actionable items.

• Participate with the Safety Process and VPP Programs.
• Provide safety audit function for routine and major maintenance work.
• Assist in incident and accident investigations.

Requirements

The position of Lead IC&E Technician requires at least five years of industrial experience in the repair and maintenance of Electrical and Instrumentation systems and equipment. A high school education and formal technical or apprentice training is required. As well a strong background in CEMs is a desired attribute for this position.
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general technical procedures, or drawings. Ability to write comprehensive logs, reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peer group or supervision. Proficient in the use of MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint.
