POSITION SUMMARY: The Garden Designer/Landscape Architect works directly with the Studio Lead and Senior Garden Designer in the production of conceptual master plans and design development drawings. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Function: Production 1. Survey properties to obtain and document existing site conditions through photographic documentation, site measurements, topographical survey and plant inventory. 2. Obtain information concerning easements, codes and regulations. 3. Compile base sheet information including photographic analysis, drainage analysis, and site analysis. 4. Draft base sheets and prepare survey information for presentation. 5. Produce conceptual master plans, working closely during establishing program and intent, developing design concepts, client review and acceptance 6. Support Senior Garden Designer and Department Director in the preparation of conceptual master plans. 7. Prepare presentation drawings. 8. Support Senior Garden Designer/ Landscape Architect in client meetings through documentation, clarification of survey information and clarification of technical information. 9. Preparation of design development packages and support to Senior Garden Designer/ Landscape Architect during the design development. 10. Contract Documentation 11. Required to understand the flow of Standard Operating Procedures and utilize all technology tools and system platforms required for the role. 15. Responsible to work safely, assist in ensuring safe working conditions exist and report unsafe conditions to manager. 16. Responsible for Lambert’s process efficiencies, improvements and quality of work. 17. Safeguard Company assets and communication devices. 18. Demonstrate commitment to productivity process improvements, as well as advancements of new technology, applications and tools. 19. Assist team in maintaining on-going relationships with all contacts and clients to ensure satisfaction and promote additional sales. 3. Document information from customer meetings to ensure program elements, design requirements, and deadline requirements are accurately recorded and met. Professional Development and Community Public Relations 1. Continue professional / technical education and participate in company wide training when appropriate. 2. Review technical publications and articles to stay abreast of technical developments in the horticultural / landscape service industry. 3. Membership in professional trade organizations and the accepting of leadership roles in such groups. 4. Obtain and maintain required certification and licensing in industry appropriate organizations, i.e. TNLA,NALP, ASLA, TDA, TNRCC, etc. 5. Assist in recruitment of employees within the design levels 6. Prepare necessary documentation for archives and awards presentations. 7. Plan and support public relations policies, company’s image and relations with clients, prospective clients, employees, industry organizations and the general public. Administrative 1. Prioritize workload. 2. Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as timely completion of all necessary documentation and administrative procedures including: payroll information and other required paperwork. 3. Acquaint new team members and employees with team policies and procedures. 4. Promote team concept and the Company’s Quality Management System with all employees. 5. Conduct real time accurate time keeping at level required.
