CPL is looking for an experienced Land Survey Crew Chief to work from our Poughkeepsie, NY location. The Crew Chief will oversee field staff and ensure our projects are delivered on time. This role includes calculating land boundaries, creating maps and reports of survey results for clients. The Land Survey Crew Chief measures land features, such as depth and shape, based on reference points. The successful candidate will examine previous land records to verify data from on-site surveys, prepare maps and reports, and present results to clients. Additional duties include:

  • Measuring property boundaries
  • Creating records of survey results
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff on-site
  • Coordinate schedule with Manager

Qualifications

  • Land Surveying degree and two years’ experience OR five years of field experience

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Hands-on experience with engineering instruments
  • Knowledge of GPS and GIS systems.
  • Great mathematical and analytical skills, and a good eye for measurements.
  • organized and detail-oriented

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to work on uneven or unfinished surfaces, above and below ground,

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, twist/turn upper body, and climb.
  • Able to use hands/arms with repetitive action for fine manipulating, keyboarding, handling and/or feel objects
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
