To accomplish its mission, DEQ operates from a single centralized headquarters locale and multiple regional office locations. This position is in DEQ's headquarters located in the Lloyd District in Portland, Oregon, and is part of the Central Services Division. This team of experts provides operational support to agency divisions and work teams by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and policies, and by providing effective customer service to all stakeholders. Required Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years of information systems experience; OR An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) years accredited vocational training program in information technology; AND one (1) year of information systems experience. Experience providing Tier 2 level support assistance to staff members in resolution of all hardware and software, and networking problems, relating to the use of computer systems, including standard desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Experience troubleshooting and resolving email issues, network issues, and other electronic communication problems that are beyond the scope of users. Ability to work the Headquarters Service Desk as Tier 2 Level Support team member. Experience tracking user issues and requests, status, and resolutions in a service request system/database. Experience building and maintaining desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and equipment, including applying maintenance updates, installing software, and initiating and monitoring hard drive defragmentation and virus scanning. Experience deploying Windows desktop and server system solutions. Working Conditions: Normal office conditions. Some travel may be required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in response to potential environmental emergency conditions. What you will do!
As the LAN Administrator, you will provide technical support, training, problem resolution, and implementation coordination for the Headquarters Local Area Network (LAN) and stand-alone computer software and hardware. You will also play an intricate role in supporting information services, financial services, human resources, organizational development, records management, and health and safety.
