Employment Type : Full-Time
This part-time, limited-term position will assist in the laboratory detection and reporting of SARS-CoV-2 infection, as determined by manual, semi-automated, and automated laboratory methods and reported through a Laboratory Information System. 1. Perform, interpret, document and report laboratory test results
2. Specimen processing
3. Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshoot; execute and evaluate quality control and quality assurance procedures
4. Document and report as required by regulatory agencies (including public health)
5. Understand and participate in preanalytical, analytical and postanalytical aspects of testing
6. Anticipate and maintain required supplies for uninterrupted testing
7. Assist in documentation and submission of laboratory reports
8. Pick up specimens from specimen collection location(s), as needed
9. Unpacking, storage, and/or reconstitution of selected testing supplies
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested
o Lift boxes weighing approximately 20 pounds.
o Bend down to perform maintenance on equipment.
o Work with (and tolerate) 50% bleach.
o Stand for extended periods of time.
o Have the ability to get across campus to interact with clinical personnel and to retrieve specimens.
o Tolerate wearing N95 respirator in addition to standard personal protective equipment.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
