Description:Mercy Hospital and Medical Center is looking for Lab Technicians (Microbiology Lab) to join our team. We have part time and full time positions available; MT and MLT's are encouraged to apply.

The Lab Tech under the supervision of the Manager, performs routine laboratory analyses on a timely basis on patients ranging in age from neonate to geriatric.

  • Perform routine lab analyses as scheduled by the Lead MT
  • Performs routine calibration and preventation maintenance on lab instruments in accordance to established rorcedures
  • Logs in specimens, keeps accurate records and reports results into the computer according to the sections established procedures
  • Utilizes quality control procedures according to established procedures

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Preferred - Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Sciences or Biological or Physical Science
  • Preferred: - Certification as MLT
  • Required - One year full time experience in a clinical lab.
  • Required - Organizational and interpersonal skills, professional and technical knowledge, initiative with a degree of accuracy and attention to details in approaching work responsibilities
  • Required - Works successfully in a team environment with pathologist, peers, and Department/Hospital staff required
