Ideal candidate will have a degree in microbiology or medical technology, familiar with the different types of diagnostic tests conducted for infectious diseases and the disease agent names. This position will go through mailed laboratory reports, scan them into an electronic file folder, sort through incoming faxed/emailed/scanned laboratory reports and electronically file them for data entry or disposition to other disease programs. As needed, assist with separating multi-page reports in Adobe Acrobat. Will learn how to assist data quality specialist on the disease surveillance system, train others to route laboratory reports, and work with other reporting sources to help migrate them away from mailing reports to either Electronic Laboratory Reporting, flat file submission to sFTP, or if unable, to secure fax or secure email. The Laboratory Data Coordinator will learn Arizona Department of Health Services public health surveillance system, work with secure confidential information, comply with HIPAA and ADHS policies and procedures.
