ABB OPTICAL GROUP, one of the nation’s leading distributors of optical products, is continuing to grow and is hiring team oriented, long term, career minded individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment as one of our Optical Manufacturing Technicians in multiple departments including: Surface, AR, Finish, QC, Tracing, and Expediting at our Wood River, IL facility.As an Optical Manufacturing Technician, you will have the opportunity to train in multiple areas that fit your skill set. Some potential duties include:

• Become a machine operator and operate state of the art CNC machinery.
• Receive incoming frames and orders to start our manufacturing process.
• Ship lenses and frames to multiple locations across the United States.
• Operate state of the art equipment in thin film coating processes.
• Assemble multiple types of frames using hand tools.
• Learn multiple processes for different lens types and manufacturers.
• Learn quality control process.
• Work safely and quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Learn job skills that last a lifetime and cross train in additional areas around the lab.

As an Optical Manufacturing Technician, you will be eligible for:

• Pay based on experience

• Plus $1 shift differential for second shift.
• 3 weeks of paid time off per year, which increases as you grow with ABB.

To become an Optical Manufacturing Technician, you will need to:

• Be a team player with a positive attitude who strives to perform at your best daily.
• Have attention to detail, accuracy, repetition, and fine motor skills.
• Be able to stand for most of your shift and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout your shift.
• Have the ability to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.

We have immediate Optical Manufacturing Technician openings for both first and second shifts! Overtime opportunities available in most departments. Job Type: Full-time 1st Shift Base Pay: From $13.00 per hour 2nd Shift Base Pay: From $13.00 per hour PLUS $1.00 Night Shift Differential
