Job Description


Zscaler is seeking to hire a Lab System Administrator who has good technical knowledge and a desire to build creative solutions to sustain the rapid growth of Zscaler.

In this role, you will focus on remotely supporting all aspects of US HQ lab infrastructure and a wide variety of hardware, operating systems, and applications.

Responsibilities:

You will be an instrumental part of the Zscaler lab team responsible for the provisioning, availability, latency, performance, efficiency, Securing, monitoring, and emergency response.

  • Good experience with networking principles, Firewalls, Load Balancing Solutions, etc.
  • Working closely with QA, Development, and Infrastructure teams to understand, implement, and deploy solutions to support the projects
  • Deploy patches and upgrades, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities as required for the network
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Designing and maintaining lab topologies and documentation
  • Procuring, racking, and stacking lab equipment
  • Provisioning and installing servers or VMs
  • Configuring and maintaining high uptime of all network switches, routers, servers, firewalls, PDUs, and traffic generators, etc.
  • Provisioning and configuring hosts with various types of operating systems
  • Responding to network outages and performing root cause analysis.
  • Writing automation for system provisioning, back-ups, and other repetitive tasks in the lab
  • Maintaining software security and vulnerability patches
  • Managing asset life cycle and inventory management
  • Making sure that Lab is operating/following the corporate security policies.
  • Managing AWS Instances, security policies.

Qualifications
  • US Citizenship Required, do to the nature of the projects and clients
  • 0-2 years of experience in setting up lab infrastructure including procuring, racking, and configuring networking equipment
  • Network and system administration knowledge
  • Knowledge of Linux/UNIX and related applications
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Constantly driving to improve, optimize and identify opportunities for process improvement

Good-to-have skills:

  • CCNA is a plus
  • System administration experience in configuring and provisioning Linux, Windows, VMware ESXi / vCenter, OpenStack and other virtualization environments
  • Advanced Linux/Unix system administration skills
  • Basic working knowledge of AWS
