JOB OVERVIEW
Porters will work to help the BOH execute a smooth workplace through dish and equipment upkeep. The ideal candidate will be excited to be a part of the team and to uphold the Milk Bar standards and values
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge and comfort operating all kitchen equipment including high-heat dishwasher
- Following up and completing daily prep list within the given shift time
- Proper attire including porter shirt, apron, hairnet, and closed-toed shoes is required
- Maintain a clean station while working that is up to HD code/standard
- Work closely with kitchen and distribution/fulfillment teams to assist with daily tasks
- Complete daily dish tasks including:
- Receive and assist in putting away all incoming deliveries
- Break down cardboard and dispose of
- Maintain the organization of the trash areas
- Take out trash and compost bins, move dumpsters
- Maintain cleanliness of the assigned areas, such as:
- Bathrooms
- Locker rooms
- General prep/production areas
- Walk-ins and dry storage areas
- Triple sink, dish area, and smallwares
- Carts and speed racks
- Fully understand and exhibit the Milk Bar ethos, embodying our core values and inspiring celebration, and serve as a brand ambassador both internally and externally
Other duties may arise from time to time and may be assigned to you long-term or short-term.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and high energy environment
- Must possess thoroughness and time management skills
- Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly and constantly improve
- Related experience preferred
- Team-oriented mindset with an ability to adapt
- Perform the physical elements of the job (lift 25-50 lbs)
