Position Summary

Provides climbing instruction to members and guests in a fun, professional, and safety-focused environment. Encourages climbers to further develop their climbing abilities and physical fitness. Grows and maintains impactful connections with members. Provides excellent customer service and climbing instruction that exemplify the Life Time Way.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Implements and adjusts lesson plans for climbing programs to ensure the individual needs and goals of participants are met, with their personal skill levels taken into consideration
• Provides organized climbing instruction in a safety-focused atmosphere to both youths and adults
• Monitors climbing area to ensure safety procedures are adhered to by climbers and spectators
• Explains and demonstrates correct usage of climbing equipment and facility features
• Promotes and sells rock climbing programs in order to increase participation and revenue
  

Position Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of climbing experience
• 6 months experience as Rock Wall Team Member (internal candidate) or 1 year indoor climbing gym experience (external candidate)
• 6 months experience instructing climbing programs to both youth and adults
• First Aid certification, Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire
• Ability to occasionally scale climbing wall structure
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift more than 20 lbs

Preferred Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Top rope belay certification, lead climb and belay certification
