Position Summary: Responsible for performing routine animal care and related duties at the Garland animal shelter including: medical evaluations, behavior evaluation, cleaning and maintaining kennel areas, socializing with adoptable animals and assisting citizens interested in adoption.

Target Hiring Range: $10/hour - $12/hour
Essential Job Functions:
- Care for, feed, monitor, medicate, and perform minor treatment on animals.
- Animal shelter duties including but not limited to handling animals, receiving animals brought to animal shelter by shelter staff, preparing adoption paperwork.
- Maintain proper inventory level of food, cleaning and other supplies.
- Notify Supervisor when restocking items from shelter is needed.
- Perform kennel cleaning and other related housekeeping duties.
- Assist with other shelter duties as needed.
Minimum Education & Work Experience :
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) equivalent.
- Customer service experience Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic skill operating a computer and office equipment.
- Ability to handle animals over 25 pounds.
- Ability to thoroughly clean.
