Emma Kaufmann Camp (EKC) is located along Cheat Lake in Morgantown WV. Owned and operated by the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, EKC is a co-ed residential camp with an emphasis on teambuilding, developing positive values, independence, premiere programming and activities. Jewish Life Coordinators at Jewish overnight camps touch all aspects of the camp and organically integrate meaningful, purposeful, quality Jewish content and experiences into the magic and joy of the camp program. They work together with young adult and senior staff to strengthen Jewish living and learning for campers and staff alike. Care and consideration is given to each candidate’s summer availability, including flexibility in working around start and end dates due to school work or other employment opportunities. The Jewish Life Coordinator will report to the Camp Director. This position is an “in-residence” position and requires living at Camp throughout the summer. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally he/she is required to sit. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to obtain or possess Act 33/34, FBI, NSOR certifications and Mandated Reporter Training.
