PART-TIME POSITION - 1:00pm until 5pm/6pm when janitorial duties are complete. 20-24 hours per week
Function: To perform general janitorial services for government buildings.
Essential Functions:
- Provides World Class customer service by ensuring that offices and facilities are cleaned in a friendly and professional manner.
- Thoroughly and efficiently cleans assigned areas and locations, Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming floors, reporting stains to supervisor for spot cleaning
- Cleaning glass and other surfaces and polishing furniture
- Collecting trash and disposing of it properly
- Dusting air vents and baseboards and wiping down doors and walls as necessary
- Cleaning the refrigerator, microwave, stove and other appliances
- Making sure bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and that paper products and soap are replenished
- Completes jobs within a specified time frame and reports any problems or schedule variations to supervisor immediately.
- Exercises care and good judgment in handling the property of customers and reports any damage, concerns or problems to supervisor.
- Responsibly handles company supplies and equipment and makes sure that low inventory items are reported to supervisor.
- Works cooperatively as a team with supervisor and co-workers, offering assistance to get tasks completed efficiently, in a timely manner.
- Minimizes accidents by making sure that safety and accident reporting standards are followed and preventive measures are taken.
- Maintains Goodwill's standards for image including wearing a clean, neat uniform and name badge.
- Upholds the mission, vision and values of the agency and adheres to standards for conduct and professionalism.
- Regular attendance is required as outlined in the GWI Services employee handbook.
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
- Must present professional image of Goodwill at ALL times during working hours.
- Must be able to work scheduled work hours.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Some janitorial experience or training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to engage in frequent bending, stooping, stretching and twisting.
- Must be able to use hands, wrists and fingers, while sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors and while dusting furniture and cleaning windows.
