IT TECHNICIAN I
FULL TIME, NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
Position Summary:
The IT Technician will be responsible to provide support activities for client based computer systems, restaurant POS systems, back office systems, network equipment, and communications equipment to include onsite installation of new and replacement hardware, software and telephone support. This position reports to the manager of IT.
Essential Functions:
- Monitors DSL/network connectivity to all restaurants daily and/or on cases initiated by the stores.
- Receives trouble calls on equipment and troubleshoots problems and/or issues
- Is available 24/7 to support restaurant operations and staff personnel’s reported IT system issues
- Escalates hardware and software issues as deemed necessary by management
- Programs DSL modems and firewalls equipment
- Follows procedures to ensure systems and equipment security for PCI-DSS compliance and file integrity
- Documents procedures, issues, serial numbers, or asset data using word processing, spreadsheet or other software
- Monitors system processing activities by use of computer console, peripherals and related software
- Performs local and remote testing on equipment, including running computer programs to and utilizing tests equipment to diagnose faults
- Performs equipment repair, builds cables, and replaces boards and components to identify or remedy failures
- Performs all functions required to prepare, stage, and install BOH servers and related equipment including connections to the data communication network
- Assists in the preparation and installation of software and peripheral devices
- Assists in the diagnosis of resolution of software problems
- Prepares and coordinates sending out equipment for repair
- Implements systems and provides for ongoing maintenance and enhancements
- Performs miscellaneous functions as required, including, but not limited to; calling vendors to report or escalate problems
Qualifications/Requirements (Education/Training/Experience/Abilities):
- Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology or other related discipline is preferred
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally
- Excellent customer relation skills
- Knowledge of computers and methodology
- Ability to operate information system devices and related test equipment
- Ability to diagnose hardware and software problems
- Knowledge of network environment and data communication principles
- Ability to install and repair microcomputer components and related equipment
- Ability to resolve issues, prepare and install packages for software such as; Windows XP, Windows 7, etc.
- Ability to accurately key in coded information and instructions
- Ability to determine work priorities as well as work without direct supervision
- Able to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions while projecting a positive attitude
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check
