Clackamas County's Technology Services is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as our Purchasing Coordinator to facilitate the procurement of hardware and software technology assets. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for assisting with maintenance renewals. Researching end-user technologies and working with the technical support team on setting end-user technology standards. The selected candidate will work independently to evaluate market conditions, sources of supply, quality, and cost to purchase items at the lowest cost consistent with quality, compatibility, and county standards. The selected candidate will interface with vendors on available options and alternatives when necessary and assist the technical teams with Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), inventory management, and allocation. The Purchasing Coordinator will present end-user technology options to departments and assist departments with strategic planning for end-user technology purchases. Technology Services provides high quality, innovative, cost-effective technology for citizens, county departments, and county commissioners. Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:* ?Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:* Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Working knowledge of: Material management and inventory control procedures and practices; principles and practices of public sector purchasing, inventory control, billing and collection procedures; basic record keeping procedures; current office procedures, including computerization of inventory and records; basic mathematics; pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations; warehousing methods and procedures including inventory record keeping and control systems. Skill to: Maintain accurate records, including counting, alphabetizing, and coding; organize, stock, and issue supplies, materials, parts, tools, and equipment; perform arithmetic calculations; evaluate quality and price of products to judge suitability of goods and alternatives offered; organize and prioritize work load and assignments; efficiently and effectively operate a computer for inventory and purchasing purposes; resolve problems with vendors and County personnel; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; prepare reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with County employees, the public and vendors. This position is included in the County’s alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
