Position Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Business Analyst are to evaluate data, business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions related to data in various data sources. Identify and analyze data related business problems and define the scope of activities required to address the issues, including requirement definition, process review, impact assessment, training improvements and operational streamlining where appropriate.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Lead ongoing reviews of business/data processes and developing optimization strategies
  • Act as a project coordinator by working with key individuals to implement data sharing procedures and Data Governance standards
  • Verify data to ensure that standards are being met in accordance with San Ysidro Heath Data Governance
  • Identify key areas for process documentation and/or improvement through data analysis and strategic thinking
  • Work with management, business users, and technical staff to understand business processes, desires, and problems to be addressed
  • Participate in Change Management meetings and document any changes to data related processes
  • Work closely with the training team to ensure they are informed of any changes in processes
  • Participate in peer review of training material to ensure it meets documented processes and Data Governance standards
  • Assist others in understanding how to leverage analyses, dashboards, reports, and process improvement methodologies for improved decision making
  • Gather information from multiple sources such as meetings, interviews, document review, and task/workflow analysis
  • Provide support on data related projects, including documentation, analysis, possible solutions, identifying technology, updating business requirements and ensuring processes are updated to reflect any changes in workflows
  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements
  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Engage in self-learning, relevant training and keep current with data analytics and data governance trends by attending conferences and/or user group meetings
  • Attends meeting as required and participates in committees as directed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Job Requirements:
Education Required (Minimum level of education):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Business, Computer Science or related field

Experience Required (Minimum level of experience):

  • 2 to 5 years of real-world analytical experience
  • Experience with data governance best practices is preferred
  • Work experience with health care data is preferred

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:

  • Experience using SQL to acquire data
  • Knowledge of Tableau a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to acquire, collate and analyze large datasets. Understanding of data structure and design
  • Intermediate statistical knowledge. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Decision?making skills with the ability to investigate and weigh alternatives and select the course of action that provides the greatest benefit to the organization
  • Creative thinking skills with the ability to ask the needed bigger?picture questions that lead to process and team improvements

Salary: $75,000.00 - $112,000.00 per year
