Responsibilities: As an Investment Operations Analyst, you'll be providing support to investment teams in Principal Asset Management. This role will primarily be focused on managing, analyzing and reporting investment transactional data to business partners and clients. You will also advise senior management of any gaps or deficiencies in controls or our risk framework and work together to address them.
Here are a few examples of the kinds of things you'll do when you join our team:

• Independently perform procedures, analysis and report preparation to support the lifecycle of investments in a global infrastructure. Identify and resolve advanced problems with minimal guidance from senior team members. Conduct special analyses and/or studies for specialized projects. Responsible for account reconciliation oversight, reporting, transaction management, portfolio transaction analysis and reporting, compliance, data and/or trade support activities. Support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, development and implementation of new initiatives, process reviews and/or system enhancements. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.
• Independently execute transactions and resolve problems with minimal guidance related to new security types, compliance rules, new accounts, and or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement and/or the client reporting process. Identify and resolve issues associated with client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and/or compliance breaches. Prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and clients' needs.
• Interface with internal and external personnel including senior operations staff, legal, relationship management, IT, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, traders, regulatory agencies and/or industry contracts to educate, provide direction, obtain information and resolve problems.
• On-going vendor engagement, including product enhancements and issue resolution.
• Serve as first point of contact for inquiries for junior team members and external contacts Demonstrate expertise in the areas of technical functions, research of issues, critical thinking, problem solving, independent decision making and effective communication.
• Perform other job related duties or special projects as required.

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics or business required, plus a minimum of 3 years' work experience in investment/mutual fund operations or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of financial services and investment related terminology required.
• Solid analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management, planning, decision making, and communication skills required.

Successful candidate will have the following:

• Detailed oriented.
• SQL experience.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong client service orientation, the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven, team-based environment and the ability to produce accurate and timely information with minimal supervision.
• Able to handle multiple, increasingly complex, tasks, prioritize effectively and be flexible as business needs change.
• Ability to take initiative, be a self-starter and work independently.

Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
